I seem to have an abundance of clothes. I don't know where they come from, but I do know that I am ALWAYS doing laundry on the same old things. Over and over again. We have 10 foot ceilings in our house and so our wardobes have big bulk-heads on top of the ordinary sized cupboard-ness. Yup, my bulk head is full of clothes too.
Sometimes I wonder if they breed in the darkness up there? Evidently if they do, they never come up with anything super stylish or hot off the runway in Paris.
I donate them to charity all the time. I get so sick of being unable to close drawers / cupboards / the washing machine, that I find a giant bag and stuff it full of those superfluous treasures. But somehow they seem to magically fill up again. I think my Tim Tam genie got it wrong...
Well, I've decided that enough is enough and I am going to host a clothes swap party for like minded peoples and charge a $5 entry fee to be donated to The Cancer Council. It is afterall October, which is Womens Cancer Awareness Month, and I figure that since I am of the feminine persuasion that I should do my bit.
So my fantastic idea revolves around a bunch of ladies raiding their own wardrobes for 5 pieces that don't fit / aren't worn / insert your own reason here. We all get together for a par-tay and raid each others miscellanous items and take what we want. Anything that remains unloved can either be donated or ebayed with the profits added to the donation we all make (with the $5). Ideally we'd have at least 10 ladies in attendence so the variety would be better - both for clothes and sizes... But the more the merrier!
