Looky what I found!

So the other day I was off tarting around at my mums place. We quite frequently go there when I have just had enough of the mess at my place and want to share the wealth of the Aphid's creativity with others. Anywho, I was poking around and came accross this:

Isn't it the most glorious bit of vintage fabric?! I am so in lurve! The story goes that my late grandma purchased it for my ma to make something pretty for one of us girls. True to form it was misplaced, and said pretty-ness was never created. It's a full, untouched piece of sweetness and I'm going to use it as my tablecloth when I do the Handmade Expo in November (fingers crossed)!

So make sure you come and pay respects to this vintage find when you visit MOI at the Markets!

Just a quick brag

Her
e are the proofs for Mealie Bug's casting website! She will be an official model in a few weeks time when they are uploaded to the Australian casting network AT2.

Now we just have to wait for Aphid #2's to arrive!

So why am I here?

No, I'm not being all deep and philosophical. Literal. What am I doing *here*? On this blog? Since Mealie Bug made here appearance just over 5 months ago, I've really been bit by the sewing - um - bug. I've made all manner of pretty things for her (the poor Aphid's miss out a bit). Unfortunately there is only so many pairs of Fluffy Butts one can own, so I've decided to branch out a little and share the wealth of my cutest creation with the world!

The ones Mealie Bug is wearing in this photo are very precious to me and special. They were one of my very first pairs made. I am so in love with turquise at the moment and the fabric just delighted me!
The fluffy are three different fabrics: multicoloured stripe, plain turquise and multicolour spot all finished under a delicious pink-ish ribbon.

I realise this isn't the best photo to see them. Let me try to find another...

Here she is modelling my Heart Fluffy Butts. They have 3 lace fluffies and an embroidered denim heart. Did I mention that I am in love with turquise?!?!

Anywho... I am (or I will be in a minute once I have hung out the washing and stopped waisting time on the puter) busily adding to my collection of Fluffy Butts. So make sure you keep coming back to see how this develops...

Oh and a sneak peek at my business card...

Choos!

I can't believe it's not Gardening Australia...

So I was sitting here thinking, *what can I call my blog?* (It was quite a short conversation in my head. The rest of the time I was singing *lalalalalala*). It took a while, considering the song (you know, the Smurfs lala one) just wouldn't go away, but then it came to me! Aphids and Mealie Bugs!

Does anyone even know Alan Seale (? I think that's his name) from Gardening Australia? He has this whistle when he says *s* and the phrase *aphids and mealie bugs* has been a long time gag between me and my sisters.

So what has this got to do with anything???

Well, I have this daughter. A perfect little specimen really. (That's not to say that my boys aren't perfect. In fact one is [self proclaimed] gorgeous and the other is [once again self proclaimed] a cutie). Well in her long life (5 months) she has been known as Mealie Bug.

Ahh - you're starting to catch the train of thought?!

So, while you will catch VERY LITTLE gardening tips here, you will find an awful lot of Mealie Bug Love, (I guess that makes the boys the Aphids??) and a dash (maybe more) of my insatiable sewing appetite.

Choos!
